Text: FUNCTION MODELING CHANGE - A Preparation for Calculus,  by Huges-Hallet, Gleasen, et al. (John Wiley, 2nd Edition)

Objective: Topics needed for the study of Calculus:
Prepare students for calculus and teach problem-solving skills: Covering topics
from: exponential and logarithmic functions; trigonometry; linear, polynomial and rational functions; mathematical
models via a graphical approach; compositions, transformation & combination of functions and their graphs -
Graphing Calculator Recommended: TI - 83, Ti-85, Ti-86  or Ti- 89 or MathGv 3

Syllabus: Chapters 1 - 9 (omit sections: to be disclosed in class) -

Attendance: Since this is an application interactive course, students must attend all lectures on time to benefit from the materials to be covered; Attendance will be based on the record of your assignments / quizzes / exam returns. How to Succeed in Precalculus:
    1. Attend all lectures and participate 
    2. Workout examples in sections covered 
    3. Do and understand all homework problems
    4. Study for quizzes and exams
    5. Learn how to use your TI or Graphing Device
    6. See instructor during office hours 
Grade: Final grade is based on the following evaluation (600 total points) :

No Classes: Feb 16, Mar 15 & 17, Apr 5th Last day of Class: May 10th.
Note: Mar 26th is last day for Course Withdrawal
  Students who have not made payment and/or deferral arrangements with
  Student accounts (Hab 210) will be de-registered for non-payment by Feb 20th.
