Quadratic Functions

Quadratic Formula:

Vertex Form of Equation:

(1) y = a (x - h)2 + k, where (h, k) is the vertex

Zeros of Quadratic Functions:

(2) y = a(x - B)(x - C) = 0, where x - B = 0 and x - C = 0 are the zeros of the function,
B and C are constants (points where function crosses the x-axis):

(x - B) = 0 and or (x - C ) = 0

Maximum and Minimum of Quadratic Functions:

(3) y = ax2 + bx + c, a, b, and c are constants, when a > 0 the function has a minimum
and when a > 0 the function has a maximum

Quadratic Equation

(4) for  y = ax2 + bx + c:  the zeros are points on graph where y = 0, x =
