Lesson 4b - Intersection of linear functions

Chapter 1 p 58 # 41 - Point of Intersection of 2 linear functions.

since y = x and y = -x +3, then x = -x +3

So 2x = 3, x = 3/2 and since y = x, then y = 3/2

So points of Intersection is

Graphical Solution is

Chapter 1 p 58 # 42 - Point of Intersection of 2 linear functions.

or

When y = x + 1, 2x + 3(x + 1) = 12

5x = 9, x = 9/5 = 1.8

For x = 1.8, y = x +1 = 1.8 +1 = 2.8

Poit of Intersection is (1.8, 2.8)
